SURFACE PREPARATION

The primary cause of corrosion is poor surface preparation. Approximately 75% of coating failures are due to inadequate groundwork. Incorrect application means the coating will not adhere to the substrate material, reducing the effectiveness and longevity of the coating. Surface cleaning and preparation is therefore the most important factor for successful anti-corrosion coating systems. The overall performance and long-term stability of coatings can be extended by as much as 250% when properly executed. Proper surface preparation removes detrimental surface contaminants such as oil, grease, rust and mill scale, plus it conditions the substrate material to create a suitable surface profile.

Surface Preparation Method:
Abrasive Blasting (or sandblasting) is commonly used on steel with mill scale and rust. This high-pressure process shoots an abrasive material against the surface to remove contaminants, creating a surface profile that is suitable for the selected coating system. Our veteran team has vast experience in sandblasting techniques and assigns the correct blasting media to fit the project requirements. We have a 20x20x50 indoor blast room with a media reclamation system.

TANK LININGS

Corrosion resistant tank linings provide an essential layer of protection against harsh chemicals, hazardous materials and abrasive agents. Prolonged exposure
to these damaging substances can severely jeopardize the tank’s structural integrity, reducing the equipment’s life expectancy and ultimately costing your business time and money.

We offer a comprehensive suite of corrosion resistant tank lining systems for ISO containers, tank trailers (OTR’s), pipe linings, steel or concrete tanks, water tanks, and bulk storage tanks.

We work closely with preferred suppliers such as Advance Polymers, Carboline and PPG Industries to ensure that the proper coating / lining system is selected for your application. Our team of coating specialists will deliver a cost-effective coating solution, determine the appropriate application method and provide you with detailed inspection reports upon completion.

THERMAL SPRAY COATINGS (METALIZING)

Thermal spray (metalizing) is regarded as a superior corrosion protection forsteel and concrete structures that are subject to severely corrosive environments. Thermal Spray is commonly used in a variety of applications across several different industries, such as:

  • Petrochemical/Refineries (valves, pumps, piping)
  • High Temperature Components (heat exchangers)
